WOMEN'S HONESTY
A dressmaker was sitting by the river, drawing.
Suddenly she lost her thimble and it fell down in the river.
She got broken-hearted and started to cry. Then a good fairy appeared.
- Dear child, why are you crying?
- I lost my thimble in the river. Without that I can't manage to support my
family.
The fairy put the hand in the water and brought up
a golden thimble, covered with diamonds.
- Is this your thimble, the fairy asked.
- No, said the dressmaker.
The fairy put her hand in the river again and picked up a silver thimble,
covered with saphires.
- Is this your thimble, then, she asked.
- No, said the dressmaker, it's not mine.
Again, the fairy put her hand in the deep river
and brought up an old, worned out thimble in leather.
- Well, is this your thimble?
- YES, said the dressmaker, that's my thimble!
And the fairy was so surprised by the dressmaker's honesty so she let her
keep all three thimbles. The dressmaker went home - so happy!
A few years later the dressmaker was walking together with her husband
down by the river again. All of a sudden her husband fell into the river. The
dressmakers was broken-hearted and cried a lot. Then the good fairy was back!
- Why are you crying, my friend, asked the fairy.
- My husband fell into the river, the dressmaker was crying.
The fairy put her hand in the water and brought up
George Clooney!
- Is this your husband, the fairy asked.
-YES, the dressmaker cried out.
The fairy got mad!
- You are a lier! This is not at all your husband, she said.
- Oh, please, forgive me, good fairy, it must be a misunderstanding! You see, if
I had said "no" you probably dragged up Tom Cruise. And if I had said "no" to
him, you had pulled up my husband. If I then had said "yes" you would have given
me all three of them. As you can see, fairy, I'm not in such a good health and
it should have been far too hard for me to "take care" of all three of them, so
that's why I had to say "yes" to George Clooney.
The moral of this story is:
Whenever a woman lies there is ALWAYS a good reason, and the lie is told to make
the best for others.
Well, that's the point in this story... - and let's stick to it!!! |
