Valentine´s Day

Happy Valentine´s Day ~ February 14

Amor vincit omnia = Love conquers all

Valentin, an unknown christian man that was killed a martyre death in Italy.
On his celebration day, on February 14, it became common in
anglo-saxon countries to have festival parades.
The custom spred itself to North America, and became a day
to give away presents and letters to ones sweetheart.
From USA it came to Sweden in the 1960,
and its called "AllaHjärtans Dag".

"There is only
one happiness in life...
to love and be loved."
George Sand

Flowers

"Some men never think of it.
You did.
You'd come along
And say you'd nearly brought me flowers
But something had gone wrong.
The shop was closed.
Or you had doubts -
The sort that minds like ours
Dream up incessantly.
You thought I might not want your flowers.
It made me smile and hug you then.
Now I can only smile. But,
Look, the flowers you nearly brought
Have lasted all this while."
Wendy Cope

Love is patient, love is kind.
It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
It is not rude, it is not self-seeking,
it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
It always protects, always trusts,
always hopes, always perseveres.
Love never fails.
 Corinthians 13:4-8

"My heart has made its mind up and I'm afraid it's you.
Whatever you've got lined up,
My heart has made its mind up
And if you can't be signed up
This year, next year will do.
My heart has made its mind up
And I'm afraid it's you."
Wendy Cope

Valentine
"Chipmunks jump, and
Greensnakes slither.
Rather burst than
Not be with her.

Bluebirds fight, but
Bears are stronger.
We've got fifty
Years or longer.

Hoptoads hop, but
Hogs are fatter.
Nothing else but
Us can matter."
